Courtesy of Serena Forlino, founder of the chic store Bohology and genuine fashionista, on the first Thursday evening of this month I found myself on a penthouse rooftop at the Ritz Carlton Residences sipping champagne and mingling with Gucci models.

The Cruise and Spring/Summer Collection by Gucci under the direction of Frida Giannini features military, blue denim, prints and boho dresses, and is scheduled to hit Singapore shores in March 2015.

This will be the penultimate collection for Frida, who is set to leave Gucci in February next year, as one of its top executives and creative designer for a decade.

The colour palette of the Spring/Summer Collection seems more autumnal to me, with shades of tangerine, burgundy, olive green and navy, and the use of materials such as fur and leather.

Autumnal colours and textures
Rocking the boho-chic look
I particularly loved the small details that had gone into some of the designs, such as the double-stitched pattern featured on a gorgeous burgundy coat, the military-inspired cording on the cropped jackets, the laser cut lace on leather, and the intricate beaded dresses.

A guest peruses the range on display - this burgundy coat is one of my favourites!
When you peek inside this severe cropped jacket, there's a playful and colourful print!
The lace detail on this leather dress makes it pop!

I also really liked the Gucci bags in the showroom. I was told the orange-red handbag is very popular, and with its functional design and burst of colour, I can understand why. I also thought the vintage-style leather and monogrammed bags were simply adorable! The straps on these bags are change-able, so you can opt for a sporty strap or classic chain depending on your mood and occasion.

Vintage-looking Gucci bags
To top off a fantastic evening of being given essentially free reign in a private Gucci walk-in wardrobe, Gucci had arranged for gorgeous models to walk the floors (yes, three storeys!) showcasing key pieces.

Isn't she gorgeous?
Loving this dress, especially the cut of the back!
Overall, I thought the women’s collection was incredibly wearable and I loved the use of different fabrics and the mixing of various inspirations to give the pieces texture and flair.

The Gucci staff were fantastic and a big thank you to Giulia and Constance who gave Lifestyle Lookbook the green light to feature this amazing private event on our blog.
